K.A. Hersey & Sons may have been founded in 2000 but its history began much earlier than that. The name itself explains the core values and history, skills and experience that come with working with us. Owner, Scott Hersey, is a third generation carpenter and builder. The company is named after Scott’s father and grandfather, both builders and carpenters themselves. Scott grew up on construction sites, never living down the time he had to have his overalls stapled to the roof. As the name suggests, this is a family company and clients of K.A. Hersey & Sons are viewed as part of that family too.

Client experience is what sets working with Scott apart. Available to clients at all times and personally attending to their needs, Scott aims to make the often stressful and confusing period of home renovation or construction a calm and focused endeavor. From project conception until completion Scott is personally involved with every step and phase of bringing home improvement dreams to fruition. When you work with Scott you will see him on site, often several times a day, continually overseeing the work, you will have weekly update meetings and emails to track progress and with our often unpredictable New England weather, you will have someone to call in emergencies 24/7. 

Yet Scott does not do all of this alone. K.A. Hersey & Sons is a valuable member of a larger network of building professionals, suppliers and craftsmen. Through his many years in the field, Scott has worked diligently to develop strong relationships with these skilled and dedicated colleagues. Scott goes the extra step, or sometimes many miles, to expand his role beyond merely your local contractor by continually advancing his research, staying involved in trade organizations, and attending trade and design conventions. These additional efforts directly contribute to the quality of your project by giving you the clients access to the best materials, the most advanced techniques and the newest home capabilities.
